Krysta Brayer is a professional portrait and documentary photographer based in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.  With a background in printmaking and a fine arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design, her portraits of artists are inextricably infused with her experience in the visual process of painting, etching and drawing.

Armed with a telescopic lens and a DSLR Canon since 2012, she has driven across Iceland with a paper mache spacesuit project, has documented the course of two Russian grunge bands from St. Petersburg to the Black Sea and back, has produced visuals for multiple albums, and has worked with recording artists, actors and craftswomen in the city to build their personal visual narratives through her work.
